Patricia holds the belief that humans possess an inherent ability to grow, even in the midst of life's challenges. She considers psychotherapy, particularly when carried out collaboratively with an attuned counselor, as an avenue for exponentially expanding this growth potential. With a warm and empathic presence, she provides a supportive environment where clients can explore their experiences, deepen self-awareness, develop resources, and overcome barriers to desired goals.
Her counseling philosophy is grounded in psychodynamic, attachment, and relational theory, and she incorporates a broad range of clinical approaches into her practice, including evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, along with mind/body interventions like Core Energetics and Psychodrama. Patricia specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, stress, addiction, trauma, and relationship issues. Moreover, she offers a sex-positive space for clients in non-traditional and polyamorous relationships to address their relationship concerns.
Patricia earned her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY Hunter College and holds a Master of Fine Arts in performance from the National Theatre Conservatory. Her background in the entertainment industry spanning over 20 years provides her with a deep understanding of the psychological and cultural stressors that affect creative professionals.
In addition to her private practice, Patricia also serves as a senior psychotherapist at the Soho Center for Mental Health Counseling located in Manhattan, NY. Prior to joining the Soho Center, she worked at the Greenwich House Methadone Clinic and Samaritan Daytop Village, where she provided group and individual counseling services to patients with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. She also served for two years as a faculty member for Corevolution, a personal development training program rooted in Core Energetics.
She is a member of several professional organizations, including the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy (USABP), the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), and the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama (ASGPP).
